Closed - and we have winners.

Congratulations to Commenter Number 4, Sandra Jasper and Commenter Number 11, Honey Pell. You've won yourselves a pair of tickets to the Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival, 2012. Please email me your names and telephone numbers (thetiffinbox@yahoo.com) and I will email you details of your tickets.

Thank you everyone for taking part! Sadly, as I am working I won't be able to make it this year, but I hope you do get a chance to enjoy the festival one way or another. There are a few other Edmonton blogs offering tickets and they won't close till tomorrow, so do check them out as well.

Till next year, cheerios!!

Michelle

The Rocky Mountain Food and Wine Festival is back in Edmonton! A two evening food and drink extravaganza, this is Alberta's largest food and wine festival, and this year is being held on November 2nd and 3rd at the Shaw Conference Centre, Halls A - C.

I had a fabulous time there last year, check out my review here.

'The Edmonton Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival is back for two days of indulgence, offering a little something for everyone. The Grand Tasting Hall will be bustling with more food and beverage exhibitors than ever before, leaving taste buds seduced and craving more. The Festival offers the opportunity to sample an extensive variety of world-class wine, scotch, premium spirits, import and micro-brewed beer along with gourmet culinary creations from local restaurants, hotels and food purveyors.

On November 2nd and 3rd the City of Champions can look forward to enjoying an evening of wine and culinary bliss at the 2012 Edmonton Rocky Mountain Wine & Food Festival. Returning to celebrate the Festival’s 11th year of deliciousness, attendees can sample from an impressive selection of wine, spirits, beer and cuisine showcased by a diverse group of local restaurants, food purveyors, and hotels'

This year's focus is on organic wines and fruit infused beers, and sounds pretty exciting with dishes like Bison Gyoza, Reverend Rundle Stout Braised Bison, my favourite Butter Chicken Samosa and Port & Pomegranate Truffle!

If these dishes and wines and beers are making you feel excited, then you'll love that I have two pairs of tickets to give away to the Friday (November 2nd) evening session, which runs from 4 - 10 PM. All you have to do to enter to win one pair is leave a comment on this post as to why you'd like to go to the festival and what you are looking forward to the most. That's it. I will be doing a random draw on the 31st of October and will announce two winners here at 5 PM.

What are you waiting for? Comment away! And as you all know flattery won't help your winning chances, but it will certainly make me feel great :)

If you comment as Anonymous, please leave your name in your comment so I know who you are. Enjoy!

Few notes:
  • The event is for adults only (18+), and no minors are allowed at any time.
  • The giveaway is for entrance tickets only. You will have to buy sampling coupons in the Grand Tasting Hall (cash only) Each ticket costs $0.50 (last year I was able to sample pretty much most of the goodies on offer for about $25 worth of tickets, but you know how much you'll eat and drink :))
  • If you are the winner, please contact me asap, with your email address and full names. You will pick up your tickets from the Will Call booth.

  1. I would love to go. My husband is usually away this time of the year (military) and would love to be able to check this out for the first time. Everything looks amazing, but he is interested in the Irish chicken sliders. @peggy_doyle

  11. I would really love to go! I have been doing the majority of our holiday entertaining and hosting for the last year (having moved to the area a year ago), and I could sure use the break and have myself be treated for a change! I would get a sitter for our son, and take my husband out for a nice date!

I would be delighted to go to this simply because I love wine and food, and it would be a fun night out for Michael and I.
